Urgent Florida Alert! Attention Osceola County Sportsmen!

Saturday, April 26, 2008

April 26, 2008

To:      USF & NRA MEMBERS
From: Marion P. Hammer
          USF Executive Director
          NRA Past President

Slowly but surely they’re going after all hunters -- This time local politicians are responding to the anti-hunting crowd that will try anything to shut down hunting.

IF THEY PICK US OFF ONE AT A TIME, soon there will be nothing left for sportsmen.  If you can't hunt alligators with an airboat, how long will it be before they won't let you hunt with live ammunition?

ALERT!!!!!!

Osceola County Commissioners to Vote to BAN Airboats from Hunting Alligators on Lakes Toho ON MONDAY!

Monday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. the Osceola County Commission is set to vote to ban airboats from hunting alligators on Big Lake Toho and East Lake Toho, all because a few residents don't like the "noise" that's protecting them from gators.

Commissioners say we can only use canoes and john boats!

Because of a state law that says they can discriminate against airboaters with a super majority vote,
WE NEED TWO COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE NO!

TELL THEM YOU ARE AN OSCEOLA COUNTY RESIDENT...and VOTER!

Then tell them:
"This is a matter of public safety. If alligators are not harvested from those lakes,
the population will explode and the gators will endanger the lives of pets, children, and residents. ONLY AIRBOATS CAN HARVEST THESE GATORS DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF WEEDS IN THE LAKES.

"Please protect our citizens and their property by voting NO on this proposed
ordinance."

You can also remind them that we are already off those lakes for 10 months out of the year. Gator season is about 8 weeks long.

One Commissioner wants to set a curfew of 2:00 a.m. The idea of a curfew is not manageable for several reasons.

(1) What happens when a hunter has a gator, not in the boat, and it’s 1:45 a.m.?
(2) The large, and potentially most dangerous gators, don't come out until early
in the morning.

Here are their cell phone numbers. Please make their cell phones ring off the hook!
