Nearly a decade after a federal law mandated expulsion for students who bring guns to school, Wisconsin officials fear that misunderstanding still lingers over what the law means. A recent review of the state`s data on firearm-related student discipline turned up a rash of over-reporting. In many cases, school districts reported that they meted out discipline for students who brought BB guns, toy guns or other non-firearm weapons to school.
