A Gaston County woman took matters into her own hands Tuesday morning when she said two men tried to break into her home.
Sabrina Flowe told Eyewitness News reporter Ken Lemon that she was inside her home on Rhyne Street when she heard something at the back of her home.
She said she grabbed her gun, went toward the back door and saw a man working to get into an enclosed porch area. Her husband taught her how to use the gun.
Flowe showed the gun and told the man to get out.
"I had my hand up like this where they could see it," Flowe said.
She said the man and another suspect ran off.
"They could have gotten in the house and got all my stuff," she said. "I'm glad I was home."
She said there was determined to protect a 1- and 4-year-old child inside the home.
"My only thought is to take care of my family," Flowe said. "Don't let somebody come in."
