South Dakotans may soon have another option when it comes to concealed-carry pistol permits.
District 29 state Rep. Thomas Brunner, R-Nisland, one of the sponsors of the bill, detailed the proposal at a crackerbarrel session in Sturgis on Saturday.
He said HB1215 would provide for an optional enhanced permit to carry a concealed pistol. The state already has a concealed pistol permit which costs $10 and allows a person to carry the concealed weapon within South Dakota.
