A Chicago billboard (imagery shown above) sponsored by firearm parts manufacturer Slide Fire® has tweaked some anti-gun activists in the area.
The billboard says “Pure American,” and features photographs of a baseball glove, an apple pie and an ar-15 style rifle.
Representatives of the Michael Bloomberg shell group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America are asking that the billboard be removed. But Slide Fire doesn’t appear ready to budge on the issue.
“Chicago is the number one place in the country that shows gun laws don’t work,” Laura Shackelford, Slide Fire chief executive manager, told The Washington Times. “We specifically put the ad up there to show that a firearm is normal Americana.”
