The NRA and gun rights supporters warnings over the past year are coming to fruition. The gun ban lobby, funded in large part by billionaire former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been using misleading talking points written by powerful lobbying and PR firms and is pushing radical local gun control ordinances in cities throughout California.
Most cities, after hearing from their constituents and learning the facts have rejected the ill-conceived and counterproductive civilian disarmament agenda being promoted. But a few cities decided to join in the attack on law-abiding citizens Second Amendment rights.
Various anti-gun groups have announced a meeting in Mountain View to coordinate their efforts to push various gun bans and restrictions in Mountain View and neighboring communities. This meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.) on Saturday, February 8 at the Mountain View City Hall located at 500 Castro Street. More details are available here.
There is no doubt that this meeting seeks to promote anti-gun-owner ordinances like those passed in San Francisco and Sunnyvale last year, including banning the mere possession of magazines holding more than ten rounds, along with several other troublesome and useless restrictions. The NRA is currently supporting lawsuits brought by city residents seeking preliminary injunctions to prevent both Sunnyvale and San Francisco from enforcing these laws.
NRA activists warned that this was coming, even naming Mountain View a target of the anti-gun lobby. Now is the time for action.
Please attend this meeting and respectfully but clearly voice your opposition to the anti-gun lobby’s agenda.
