Thursday's hearing focused on 11 bills pending before the public safety committee. Legislative leaders are also holding private talks on a bipartisan, omnibus gun control bill. The group is scheduled to meet again on Friday as is a task force appointed by Malloy after the Newtown tragedy.
Hundreds of people flocked to the Capitol for Thursday's hearing, many wearing stickers and holding signs. Busloads of workers from Colt Defense LLC and Colt's Manufacturing Co. came holding signs reading, "Save Our Jobs."
