Legislative Bill 785 has been scheduled to be heard in the Judiciary Committee next Wednesday, February 22, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 1113 of the Nebraska Capitol.
LB 785, introduced by state Senator Mark Christensen (44), would allow the transportation and storage of firearms in locked personal vehicles while on publicly-accessible parking lots. Employees, who carry a firearm for self-defense on their commute and those who go hunting or target shooting, either before or after work, should not be faced with the possibility of losing their jobs because of a workplace policy that deprives them of their Second Amendment rights. LB 785 would allow employees to safely store these firearms in their locked personal vehicle, guaranteeing their fundamental, constitutional rights and removing the fear of being fired.
Please call AND e-mail members of the Judiciary Committee today and respectfully urge them to support LB 785. Contact information can be found below.
