Yesterday, Senate Bill 152 was sent to Governor Brownback for his approval. This important self-defense legislation would allow persons licensed to carry a concealed firearm to lawfully carry their firearm while hunting. Current law restricts possession during bow season and limits handgun possession to certain legal hunting calibers, effectively prohibiting anyone from carrying a firearm for self-defense.
SB 152 would also allow any person who lawfully possesses a suppressor to use their suppressor while hunting. SB 152 passed the state Senate by a 38 to 1 vote on March 9 and passed the state House unanimously on March 22.
Please contact Governor Brownback and request that he sign SB 152 into law. Contact information for Governor Brownback can be found here.
