Reciprocity Bill Passes in the North Dakota House of Representatives

On Thursday, April 2, an amended version of Senate Bill 2415 passed the North Dakota House of Representatives by a vote of 90 to 2. SB 2415, introduced by State Senator Connie Triplett (D-18), would expand reciprocity options for North Dakota permit holders by creating a dual permit system.

This dual permit system would allow applicants to voluntarily complete an additional training requirement for broader recognition of their permit. Those who are not interested in the expanded reciprocity can still opt for the standard permit and forego the additional training. The bill also extends the duration of a concealed carry permit from 3 years to 5 years.
