Earlier this week, the House Militia, Police, and Public Safety Subcommittee passed several pro-gun bills.
- HB 1655, introduced by Delegate Charles Carrico (R-5), requires a court to award reasonable attorney fees, expenses, and court costs to any entity that prevails in an action challenging an ordinance, resolution, motion, or administrative action as being in conflict with a locality's authority to control firearms.
- HB 1851, sponsored by Delegate L. Scott Lingamfelter (R-31), will put an end to one gun a month for active duty and military personnel. This effort will preserve their Second Amendment rights in effort to award those who have served their country. This bill will now move to a full committee vote.
- HB 2144, introduced by Delegate David Nutter (R-7), would restrict access to the concealed carry permit holder list from the Virginia State Police.
- HB 2528, sponsored by Delegate Mark Cole (R-88), would require that any locality holding gun buybacks sell collected guns to licensed dealers.
