Senate Bill 157, the Emergency Powers legislation introduced by State Senator Mark Madsen (R-13), passed out of the House of Representatives and now heads to Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. (R) for his consideration.
This legislation would prevent the state of Utah from restricting the possession, transfer, sale, transport, storage, display, or use of firearms or ammunition during a declared state of emergency.
SB157 will prevent government authorities from confiscating firearms from law-abiding citizens, such as occurred in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Please contact Governor Huntsman and ask that he support this important Right to Keep and Bear Arms legislation. You can leave comments for Governor Huntsman by clicking here, or by calling him at (801) 538-1000.
