Several pro-gun bills that will further protect the rights of law-abiding Virginians have passed the House of Delegates and will now move over to the Senate for consideration. Please be sure to contact your State Senator at (804) 698-7410 and strongly encourage him or her to vote for the following bills:
HB2547, sponsored by Delegate Charles Carrico (R-5), removes the authority for localities to prohibit the possession of a loaded firearm on public roadways, except for the regulation of hunting.
HB1626, championed by Delegate Bill Janis (R-56) provides for civil immunity for those defending themselves from an attacker.
HB2588, also sponsored by Delegate Janis provides that the Superintendent of State Police may authorize transfers of NFA firearms transfers.
HB3108, also authored by Delegate Janis prohibits certain medical professions from asking a minor about the presence of firearms in the minor’s home.
HB3109, also sponsored by Delegate Janis repeals the authority of localities to restrict hunting and the discharge of firearms within ½ mile of a subdivision.
