According to police, a 54-year-old burglar with a violent and
lengthy criminal record dating back to 1969 decided to strike again.
The man -- whose rap sheet includes aggravated assault with a knife,
aggravated robbery, felony menacing and drug charges-entered the
home of a local schoolteacher by removing an air conditioning unit
from a window. The homeowner shot the intruder in the chest with a
12-gauge shotgun, killing him.

Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
