When handgun owner Franco Britti heard Paul Martin`s proposal to further restrict handguns, he went straight to Parliament Hill, where he worked for 15 years as a furniture refinisher until retiring in 1995. For the past week, the 69-year-old has been making the rounds of MPs` offices, looking for supporters and letting members of the government know how he feels. "When I shave in the morning, I look in the mirror and see an honest man," he said yesterday. "Now they want to say I`m a criminal."
