Slowly but surely, the investigative circle grows closer to Kofi Annan. On October 10, the former French ambassador to the United Nations, Jean-Bernard Merimee, was arrested in Paris on suspicion of having taken kickbacks from Saddam Hussein in the form of vouchers from the U.N.`s Oil-for-Food program.
