AUGUSTA - The Sportsman`s Alliance of Maine`s legislative agenda to simplify and improve Maine`s hunting laws proved confusing Thursday to members of the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee, which held public hearings on several of the bills.Some of the "omnibus bills" contained dozens of provisions, some of which already exist under state policy, and others that would complicate existing regulations. Many of the bills would liberalize hunting rules or limit the powers of the warden service to enforce the law.
