The Observer, Midlothian, VA, 1/11/99

Saturday, May 1, 1999

It was around 3 a.m. when two people entered a Midlothian, Virginia, gas station brandishing a sharp object and ordering the attendant to open the cash drawer or "I'll kill ya!" The attendant, appearing to obey, instead retrieved a handgun kept in the drawer for exactly such dire situations and leveled it at the bandits. Figuring the loot wasn't worth their lives, the suspects fled.
