Working at home late one evening, Cassandra Chancey of
Riverview, Fla., learned of an intruder's presence only when he
clubbed her on the head. As she was dragged into a bedroom, Chancey
reached under a pillow and pulled a pistol kept there. "I aimed it
at him trying to shoot him, but the safety was on," she said later.
