The manhunt for a convicted murderer who had escaped jail
had reached day three when Jim Snyder of Union Township, Ohio,
recognized the killer walking across his front yard. Arming himself
with a handgun, Snyder pursued the criminal into a nearby wooded
area and convinced him to give himself up. "There should be more
citizens like him," Deputy Tom Collins said of Snyder. "He certainly
went beyond the call of duty."
