Asheville, N.C., police commended Mrs. Sandra Kay Morris,
22, an apartment house manager, for holding a hoodlum at pistol
point after he attempted to kick in an apartment door after
midnight. Mrs. Morris, awakened, covered the man with her father's
revolver until police arrived. The police said the intruder had
been previously charged with assault with a deadly weapon, and
congratulated Mrs. Morris on staying "cool as a cucumber." Mrs.
Morris, who had 6 years of rifle and pistol training in her 'teens,
said, "A woman should always be able to protect herself."
