Platte City, Mo., gasoline station operator Jim Riddle
surprised 2 men in the act of burglarizing his service station in
the early morning hours. The pair fled, and Riddle grabbed a rifle
and called for them to halt. When the men kept going, Riddle brought
one of them down with a shot from his gun and held him for police.
The other bandit escaped.
