As Vernice Benny Baynum returned to his South Whittier,
Calif., home, he saw a strange car in front of his house, and noted
his garage door was ajar. When he entered his home, he heard noises
coming from his bedroom. Baynum grabbed a shotgun and started for
the bedroom when a man started running towards the front door.
"Stop," ordered Baynum. The thug complied and was held at gun point
until police arrived.
