Aroused at 2 A.M. by noises coming from the back bedroom of his Houston, Tex., home, Willie I. McDonald armed himself with a cal. .44 pistol and went to investigate. Finding a man going through bureau drawers, he held the intruder at gunpoint while he called police. As McDonald hung up the phone the intruder rushed at him with a hammer. McDonald fired four quick shots, three of which struck the bandit.
