APPEARS IN Gun Laws

The Chronicle, Houston, TX

Thursday, March 1, 1962

Clarence Williams was awakened and armed with a pistol by his mother, who had seen a prowler wearing heavy canvas gloves and a cap pulled low over his face forcing a window of their Houston, Tex., home. While Mrs. Williams phoned police, Clarence and his father, armed with a rifle, circled the house. As they closed in, the marauder shot the elder Williams in the foot and then wheeled to shoot Clarence, but the hammer of his pistol caught in his heavy gloves. Clarence emptied his own weapon at the ex-convict and killed him.
