Senate Bill 480, legislation relating to motor vehicle regulations and transportation (unrelated to Second Amendment issues), has been amended to provide for a Missouri NRA license plate to support your Second Amendment rights and activities in the Show-Me State. This amendment was successfully offered by state Representative Eric Burlison (R-136).

Last night, House Bill 1508, legislation relating to shooting ranges, was amended and passed in the state House by a 93 to 5 vote. This morning, House Bill 2471, a background check reform bill, passed in the state House by a 96 to 2 vote. Additionally, Senate Bill 6123, an NRA special license plate bill, passed in the state Senate this morning by a 36 to 13 vote.

As reported last week, House Bill 1508, legislation relating to shooting ranges, and House Bill 2471, a background check reform bill, both passed in the state House, and Senate Bill 6123, an NRA special license plate bill, passed in the state Senate. All of the aforementioned bills have now been assigned to policy committees in their opposite chambers, but none have been scheduled for a hearing. The deadline for the bills to be heard and action by their current committees is this Friday, February 24.

Thanks to your support, we were able to meet the 1000 applicant pre-order quota, the minimum requirement set forth by the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services, to manufacture the specialized NRA license plate. The Tennessee NRA specialized license plate will be made available within the next three to six months. For those who submitted payment and an application, please watch your mail this fall for a letter from the Tennessee Department of Vehicles Service’s Division announcing when you will be able to pick up your plate from your local county clerk’s office. Thanks to the efforts of former Senator and current Idaho County Commissioner Skip Brandt, State Representative Mike Moyle (R-14), and NRA National Board Member Dwight Van Horn, NRA members in Idaho can now show their NRA pride as well as helping preserve and build roads.
