Norfolk, NE—In a series of media events across Nebraska today, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announced its endorsement of U.S. Senator Ben Nelson.
“I am pleased to announce our endorsement of Senator Ben Nelson for reelection to represent Nebraska in the United States Senate,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of NRA - PVF. “Ben Nelson has a longstanding and proven commitment to preserving our Second Amendment for law-abiding gun owners.”
Senator Ben Nelson is a longtime hunter and sportsman, and a stalwart defender of the Second Amendment. As Nebraska’s Senator, Nelson opposed reenacting the 1994 federal gun ban, co-sponsored and voted for legislation to protect law-abiding gun manufacturers from predatory lawsuits and voted to prohibit firearm confiscation during government declared emergencies like Hurricane Katrina.
Senator Nelson is currently a co-sponsor of the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act,” which would ensure that citizens licensed to carry firearms could do so throughout the United States, as well as the “District of Columbia Personal Protection Act,” to restore the self-protection rights of D.C. residents by allowing them to lawfully possess and use firearms for self-defense in their homes.
As co-chair of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, he has been a trustworthy leader on matters affecting the pro-gun community. Senator Nelson’s strong, pro-gun record has earned him an endorsement and “A+”, the highest rating granted by NRA-PVF.
“Ben Nelson has worked tirelessly to preserve the values and traditions of America’s heartland,” concluded Cox. “I ask every Nebraska gun owner and NRA member to vote for Senator Ben Nelson on November 7th.”
Chris Cox will attend media events with Senator Nelson in Norfolk, Grand Island, Kearney and Scottsbluff on Thursday and will be in Omaha and Lincoln on Friday.
