The state Board of Education approved $1.57 million Friday to help pay for 157 police officers at schools in 50 districts throughout the state, including Clinton and Hinds County.
The Legislature this year approved $7.5 million for matching grants up to $10,000 per school per year for trained law enforcement officers in districts that seek the funds.
