This Monday, December 16, the Caswell County Board of Commissioners will meet and consider a proposed amendment to the Caswell County Unified Development Ordinance that would adversely impact the development of local shooting ranges. The proposed language in this ordinance also appears to violate the current North Carolina Sport Shooting Range Protection Act. Shooting ranges are an integral part of ensuring that law-abiding gun owners have a place to practice their skills and develop safe, responsible firearm handling practices. One provision of this proposed ordinance would arbitrarily require that shooting range facilities be screened from view, as if being able to merely see a range poses some sort of danger. The county commissioner meeting will be held on Monday, December 16 at 6:30 PM at:
