Virginia: Purcellville Mayor Joins National Gun Ban Group

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Contact Mayor Bob Lazaro and tell him to stand up for your gun rights!

Purcellville Mayor Bob Lazaro announced on New Year’s Eve that he has joined “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” (MAIG), a national gun ban group founded and funded by anti-gun extremist New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.  This news was recently reported in the Loudoun Times.

MAIG claims to support the Second Amendment, but its actions and policy positions seek to restrict gun rights for law-abiding citizens rather than focus on violent criminals.

This misguided group actively lobbies for gun control legislation, including banning commonly owned semi-automatic rifles and “high-capacity” magazines, regulating gun shows out of existence, opposing national Right-to-Carry reciprocity and regulating private firearms transfers between family and friends.

Contact Purcellville Mayor Bob Lazaro and urge him to quit MAIG and reject their radical anti-gun agenda.  Restrictions imposed on law-abiding citizens will not keep firearms out of the hands of violent and insane criminals.  Mayor Lazaro can be reached at 540-338-7421 (work) or 540-338-0366 (home) or [email protected]

Enacting more gun control laws and disarming law-abiding citizens has not and will not prevent the misuse of firearms or reduce violent crime.  We know from experience MAIG’s efforts and policies will not work—they will only render law-abiding citizens and their families as defenseless victims.

It is very disturbing that Mayor Lazaro would join a national gun ban group and you need to express your opposition to this action!  Does Mayor Lazaro represent you by joining MAIG and supporting its anti-gun agenda?  If not, you need to tell him to quit MAIG and support the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.  He should focus on the real problems:  violent crime and criminals.

Again, Mayor Bob Lazaro can be reached at:
