On January 27, NRA-backed Legislative Bill 807 passed in the Judiciary Committee and will now head to the floor of the Legislature for a vote. LB 807 must be voted on three times before it can be sent to the Governor for his approval.
Introduced by state Senator Scott Lautenbaugh (18), LB 807 would amend and clarify the current Concealed Handgun Permit disqualifications and help expedite the application process. This legislation would go further to clarify that only individuals who have been convicted of a drug- or firearm-related crime would be disqualified from receiving a Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit.
We greatly appreciate your calls and e-mails to Judiciary Committee members in support of LB 807, your efforts continue to make a difference.
