NRA License Plate Comes to The Volunteer State!

Monday, July 6, 2009

Thank You for Your Support!

Thanks to your support, we were able to meet the 1000 applicant pre-order quota, the minimum requirement set forth by the Tennessee Department of Revenue, Vehicle Services, to manufacture the specialized NRA license plate.  The Tennessee NRA specialized license plate will be made available within the next three to six months.  For those who submitted payment and an application, please watch your mail this fall for a letter from the Tennessee Department of Vehicles Service’s Division announcing when you will be able to pick up your plate from your local county clerk’s office.  Please bring the letter with you when picking up the specialized license plate.  To locate your local county clerk’s office, please click here

Those who submitted a request for a personalized vanity plate may have already received a letter requesting your personalized options.  Please note that letter was only sent to those who specifically requested personalized plates and included the accompanying $70.00 fee.  Please keep in mind the State of Tennessee reserves the right to refuse to issue any objectionable or offensive combinations.  You will need to provide at least 3 options.  Those requests will need to be received no later than Monday, July 13 as detailed in the letter.  A return addressed envelope will be provided.

If you have questions about whether or not your selected letter combination is already in use, please contact the Tennessee Department of Vehicle Services, statewide toll-free at (888) 871-3171.

If we received your application and payment after the June 30 deadline, then your check will be returned to you in the coming weeks.

As a reminder, the NRA receives no money from this program and all the money raised through the purchase of the NRA specialty license plates will be directed to the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Program.  To find out more about the Youth Program, please visit www.tnsctp.org.  A special thank you goes to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation for their support in meeting our goal.

Thanks again to all those who applied and for becoming one of the first supporters in The Volunteer State to receive a NRA specialized license plate.

Continue to visit www.NRAILA.org for further updates and to view an eventual mock up of the Tennessee NRA specialized license plate.
