LD 1938 In Jeopardy in Maine Senate!
Important pro-gun legislation sponsored by State Representative Josh Tardy (R-Newport) has passed the House and is headed to the Senate this evening where it is in jeopardy. Senator Ethan Strimling (D-8) is attempting to have the amendment removed.
The “Tardy Amendment” would add vital provisions to LD 1938, “An Act To Protect Victims of Domestic Violence,” correcting the problem of relinquished firearms from being damaged and sometimes never returned to the owner after a “bad faith” order is terminated.
With the session coming to an end tomorrow, the Tardy Amendment is likely to be voted on as early as tonight or tomorrow morning.
Please call your State Senator toll-free now at (800) 423-6900 and ask them to support the Tardy Amendment!
