House Bill 1577 sponsored by Delegate Ben Cline (R-24) allows any person designated by the issuing judge to sign a concealed carry permit. This bill will also serve as the vehicle for several other pro-gun measures that were rolled into the bill by a House subcommittee. HB 1577 now includes the following legislation:
Please contact members of the House Militia, Police, and Public Safety Committee and ask him or her to support HB 1577 with all roll over language from the aforementioned bills.
Two additional NRA-backed bills are expected to be heard in the House Militia, Police, and Public Safety Committee on Friday morning: House Bill 704 sponsored by Delegate Clarke Hogan (R-60) prohibits counties from regulating hunting and the discharge of firearms; and House Bill 1106 sponsored by Delegate Clay Athey (R-18) allows concealed carry without a permit on personal property and in a motor vehicle, provided the person carrying the firearm notifies a law enforcement agent of the firearm during a traffic stop.
