Special California Legislative Alert 4/5/03

Saturday, April 5, 2003

Next Tuesday, April 8, several bills of importance to California`s law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen will be considered by Assembly Committees. AB 992, which would establish a 10-cent tax per bullet sold in California, will be considered by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. It is crucial that you contact the members of the Committee and voice your strong opposition to this unfair tax.

Also, the Public Safety Committee will be considering several pro-gun bills, including AB 201, which would restore the veteran`s exemption to the Handgun Safety Certificate requirement; AB 336, which would eliminate the need to renew one`s Handgun Safety Certificate, making it valid for life; and AB 462, which would make positive changes in California`s statute regulating the carrying of concealed firearms. Please call the members of the Committee and respectfully urge them to vote in favor of these bills.
