The U.S. Forest Service has released a draft plan to guide the management of Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests for the next 15 years.   The draft plan can be viewed online at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/asnf/plan_deis.

The public comment period runs for 90 days until May 13th and comments can be submitted online at asnf.planning@fs.fed.us.  For additional information, please contact the Service’s offices at 928-333-4300.

The Service is hosting three public meetings as follows:

February 26 – Show Low at Show Low City Hall, Deuce of Clubs Room 180 N. 9th Street from 4-7pm

February 27 – Springerville at Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Supervisor’s Office Conference Room , 30 S. Chiricahua Drive (behind Subway) from 4-7pm

February 28 – Duncan at Clifton Ranger District Conference Room, 397240 AZ 75 (behind the Three Way Store) from 4-7 pm

Please review the plan  and take a few minutes to submit comments.  If it all possible, please plan to attend one of the public meetings.  Your voice needs to be heard above those of environmentalists and other interests in order to protect the future of hunting and access to hunting in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests.
