This week’s outrage comes to us courtesy of MSNBC political analyst and former reporter for the Huffington Post, Alex Wagner.
As reported in a November 6 article and video on RealClearPolitics.com, Ms. Wagner, appearing as a panelist on a November 4 episode of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” was asked by host Bill Maher, “What would you change in the Constitution?"
Taking a page from the anti-gunner’s playbook, Wagner’s issued a ridiculous and naïve response: "I think get rid of the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms. I just think in the grand scheme of the rights that we have; the right of assembly, free speech, I mean, owning a gun does not, it does not tally on the same level as those other Constitutional rights. And being more discreet about who gets to have a firearm and right to kill with a firearm, I think is something that would be in our national interest to revisit that."
The U.S. Supreme Court and a majority of the American people would disagree with Wagner. History has shown us that the right of self-defense makes up the foundation of liberty. Ms. Wagner has a right to her own opinion; nevertheless, her ignorant and ill-informed response is outrageous.
