Connecticut Lawmakers to Meet Tomorrow to Consider Doubling Hunting License Fees!

Thursday, October 01, 2009

Please Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard!

Connecticut lawmakers will meet tomorrow, Friday, October 2, to act on "implementer" bills which will put into effect the outrageous fee increases that were approved last month for hunting licenses.

During the regular legislative session, the House and Senate approved a modest 25% increase in fees but then returned to Hartford last month and slapped on an additional 100% increase!

These increases will do little to raise revenue but will deal a crushing blow to hunters and sportsmen.  In this ailing economy, hunters will choose to stay home at a time when the deer population is exploding in Connecticut.  Prospective hunters and those with limited incomes will not take to the field, thus contributing to the demise of a cherished past time handed down from generation to generation.

This could be your last chance to make your voice heard!  Please contact your lawmakers IMMEDIATELY and respectfully urge them not to punish sportsmen with these outrageous fees!  To find contact information for the members of the State House of Representatives, please click here.  Contact information for the members of the State Senate can be found here.
