In the final days before Sine Die, the Senate passed Legislative Bill 97, which prevents Concealed Carry Permit holders from carrying firearms on college campuses.  Regrettably, an amendment was added by Senator Ernie Chambers (11) during debate to include hospitals in the bill as well.  This amendment surprisingly received a 31-1 vote in the Senate and then the bill advanced to final reading.  The bill passed and is headed to the Governor’s desk. 

On a positive note, an interim study has been proposed by the Judiciary Committee to review the issue of preemption in Nebraska.  We will keep you posted on any developments.
