Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Please Contact the Mayor and City Aldermen Today!

On Thursday, November 19, the City of Oakland will consider Resolution #11.09.01.  This resolution would ban the possession of firearms (even by those possessing Right-to-Carry permits) in city and historical parks, in natural areas including trails, campgrounds, forests, greenways, and waterways.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 P.M at the Oakland City Hall located at 170 Doss Street.

It is imperative that you attend the meeting to voice your opposition to this resolution in an effort to protect your right to self-defense.
If you are unable to attend, please contact Mayor William Mullins and the City Aldermen (Thomas Adams, Gregory Duncan, John Evans, and Maurice “Chuck” Wombough) at 901-465-8523 and the Parks and Recreation Office at 901-465-2922.
