Please Stand Up and Help Support the Twin Ponds Rifle Range!
The Twin Ponds Rifle Range in the Francis Marion National Forest is in need of cleanup and repairs after it was closed in September because of vandalism over the last 12 months. The Forest is hosting a volunteer cleanup and repair day in order to get the range reopened by Sunday, November 1. Already, a number of shooter-volunteers, along with a troop of Cub Scouts, have pledged their help that day. The Forest can always use additional volunteers for that day and for the future to keep the range safe and clean.
Interested volunteers should meet at the Twin Ponds Rifle Range at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 31. For directions, please call the Sewee Visitor Center at 843-928-3368. If more than enough volunteers show up at Twin Ponds, some will then be sent to Boggy Head Rifle Range for a clean up there. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves and water. Tools and trash bags will be provided on site. Lunch will be provided to the volunteers at Twin Ponds at 1 p.m. For additional information please contact Jannah DuPre at 843-887-3257.
Please take some time to volunteer to help in the cleanup and repairs to the ranges. The future of our shooting heritage depends on this type of activism. If you can volunteer, please be sure to wear some item of clothing with NRA's logo to identify yourself as a NRA member.
