"The Activist’s Corner"--Peer-To-Peer Education

You receive the Friday Grassroots Alert, but do you receive NRA-ILA’s free monthly newsletter, "Freedom’s Voice"? This free publication is a must have for the pro-gun activist, and as with the Grassroots Alert, it is absolutely free!

Each month in "Freedom’s Voice" we provide: tips on improving your grassroots activities in your community; a column by Grassroots Director Glen Caroline; and a spotlight feature highlighting outstanding activities by a pro-gun lawmaker. Recently, we added a new section -- "The Activist’s Corner" -- where we are encouraging you to share your own personal experiences in the trenches with other like-minded activists.

Some of the best ideas and tips we’ve recommended to others concerning grassroots activism have come from you -- our activists in the field who do the heavy lifting every day. Through "The Activist’s Corner" section of "Freedom’s Voice", we hope to share your local grassroots experiences with a national audience and promote a peer-to-peer dialogue, allowing volunteers to learn from their fellow volunteers.

For "The Activist’s Corner" to succeed, however, we need to hear from you! We are looking for firsthand testimonials about your successes as a grassroots activist that we may share with our thousands of readers in the hope that they may increase their effectiveness. All submissions to "The Activist’s Corner" should be sent to: freedomsvoice@nrahq.org. Please include your name, address, phone number, e-mail, and if possible, a photo of yourself. While not every submission will be published, all will be reviewed and considered.

If you currently receive "Freedom’s Voice" electronically every month, keep an eye out for this new feature and send us your submission! If you don’t currently subscribe to this free newsletter, please visit https://secure.nraila.org/Volunteer.aspx and fill out the on-line Volunteer Information Form, or call the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division at (800) 392-8683.

We look forward to improving upon the "Freedom’s Voice" newsletter, and expanding its readership, and all of this starts with you!

Studies for the Justice Department have found that "There is no evidence to suggest that criminals prefer smaller caliber guns . . . or cheaper weapons" and that "The often-assumed criminal preference for small, cheap handguns is not confirmed." (James D. Wright, et al., Under the Gun, 1983; Armed and Considered Dangerous, 1986.)
