WYOMING - Voter Registration Information

VOTER REGISTRATION

All U.S. citizens who are at least 18 years of age, are residents of the state, and have no felony convictions, are eligible to register to vote in Wyoming. To register, you must sign a registration oath form in the presence of a registry agent at his proper polling place at a primary election, or at the office of the county or city clerk in the principal office building. Mail-in registration forms may be available through the County Clerk's Office (depending on the county.) Wyoming laws allows for voter registration at the polls.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS

If you know you will be unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, be sure your voice is heard by voting via absentee ballot! If you need to vote absentee, you can apply for an absentee ballot from the County Clerk in person, in writing, or by telephone any time before Election Day. The request must include your name, social security number (optional), date of birth, complete address, the election in which you are voting absentee (if a primary election, you must indicate party preference), and a statement indicating you are entitled to vote in the election. If you are having the ballot mailed to you, you must include the address to which it should be mailed. Make sure to return your absentee ballot immediately to assure it will be delivered to the County Clerk's office no later than 7:00 p.m. on election day.
PRIMARY ELECTIONS

Wyoming hosts open primary elections, which means that all registered voters are eligible to vote in either of the party primaries, but not in more than one. However, voters who are registered with a particular party must vote in the primary of the party with which they are affiliated. Unaffiliated voters may vote in the party primary of their choice.
FOR MORE INFORMATION

For additional information on the elections, please contact the Wyoming Secretary of State at 307/777-7186. For information on specific party requirements, contact your State Republican Party at 307/234-9166, or your State Democratic Party at 307/473-1457.
