VOTER REGISTRATION

There is no voter registration in North Dakota. All U.S. citizens, who are at least 18 years of age, have resided in the state for at least 30 days, and are not incarcerated under felony conviction, are eligible to vote in North Dakota. Residents can simply show up at the polls on Election Day with valid identification.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS

If you know you will be unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, be sure your voice is heard by voting via absentee ballot! To vote by absentee ballot, you may request an application by contacting your County Auditor. When applying be sure to include your name, address (your residential voting address and then your mailing address if different), your signature, and the election in which you wish to vote. In order for your vote to count, return your completed ballot no later than midnight the day prior to Election Day. You may also vote absentee in person at your County Auditor's office as early as 40 days prior to the election.
PRIMARY ELECTIONS

North Dakota has an open primary election system, meaning that all voters may vote in either of the party primaries, but not in more than one.
